Nina Bagley

Nina has been an artist for as long as she can remember in the sense of channeling an insane, intense desire to simply CREATE. Since 1988, she has been a professional jewelry designer, and has been teaching mixed media/jewelry workshops, both in the United States and abroad, since 2000.

In the early winter of 1999, Nina opened a blank book one bitterly cold night and let her sense of design spill across the pages. The process is one that continues to unfold, and she is never without amazement and a sense of utmost gratitude for the creative flow that has yet to lessen in force.

She lives with Aspen, a truly royal and incredible 15 1/2 year old Springer Spaniel, surrounded by nature in her beloved mountains of western North Carolina; her greatest pride and joy centers on her two bright and shining sons, Robin (23) and Roy (21). They've flown the nest, but continue to come home and check on their mom and tell her they love her without hesitation. Life is good.

Stephanie Lee

A modern day expeditioner, I practice my own version of archeology, scanning the terrain for intriguing bits and pieces that present themselves. I am most inspired by nature and its melodic effects on the human spirit with my intention being to offer a simple, yet organic, approach to viewers in my work. Passionate about repurposing everyday objects, I am committed to reinventing normal into something eclectic, expressive, lighthearted and potentially spiritually stimulating all at once.

Having traveled all over the United States and internationally to offer creative instruction, I find respite in my home studio in the valleys of Southern Oregon where I work from home - continually influenced by the view out my studio windows, witty comments from my young daughters, and the ebb and flow of creative energy. My own book featuring my found object jewelry titled "Semiprecious Salvage" arrived in bookstores February 2008.

Richard Salley

I have had a life-long love affair with art and “making stuff”. I began working with metal in 1969 as an assistant to Carmel, CA metal sculptor Malcom Moran. After a brief period of operating my own metal sculpture studio and gallery, I entered the teaching profession. I have recently retired after 32 years of teaching art and photography in public school. In 2002 I turned to making found-object jewelry as an outlet for my metal work and have been teaching jewelry making classes to adults at various venues across the U.S. My work has been featured in ‘Step-by-Step Wire Jewelry’ and ‘Jewelry Artist’ magazines. Examples of my work have been included in Susan Lenart-Kazmer’s book, ‘Making Connections’ and in ‘Exhibition 36’ by Susan Tuttle.

Albie Smith

I live out in the country, part way up a mountain in the beautiful Applegate Valley in Southern Oregon. A couple of years ago the studio was completed and it is in that wonderful space that my days are spent, and some evenings too, playing with texture, pattern and color. My move into the studio allows us to actually eat at the dining room table.

Almost twenty years ago I was painting a lot and then took an afternoon paper-making class and really fell in love. For years I was sloshing around in the pulp, experimenting, taking classes and teaching workshops. Making handmade paper led to making books. It is in this form that I find the marriage of paper and the surface design processes I love.

I teach workshops in my studio, at other venues, and have taught at Art Fest and Art & Soul for many years.
